Young Earth Creation Organization Letter to Clergy Letter Signers Dear Pastor <NAME>, I learned from <SOMEWHERE> that you believe the Bible is compatible with evolution. There are two main issues: first, is evolution true, and second, is that what the Bible teaches. I want to stress that, though I will not soften any of my arguments here, I do not want to seem angry at you. Many have been deceived, and you are among them as I once was. Evolution Is Not
True There are many, many evidences that show evolution to be completely, utterly untrue. For the sake of time, let me use the 7-second refutation of evolution that Russ Miller of Creation, Evolution & Science Ministries developed. To listen to Russ Miller talk about this himself, and go into detail about this, go to www.sagadiiradio.com/sr-2009-2-6.mp3 and go to about 8 minutes. DNA Code Barrier
+ Gene Depletion +
Natural Selection = Evolution is impossible The DNA Code Barrier – one kind only has the genetic information to produce more of its kind, where evolution says that they will change into something else. For this to happen, new and beneficial genetic information has to be added. Gene Depletion – Contrary to the new and beneficial genetic information that evolution requires, all evidence shows that the genes are losing information. Every adaptation or mutation is actually a sorting or loss of genetic information, not the addition of information as evolution requires. Natural Selection – The weaker organisms are removed, and it happens to be that the weaker organisms are the mutants, the very ones that evolution would require to be the stronger ones. As you can see, these three facts stand against evolution, but there are hundreds of others, like the impossibility of spontaneous generation (life coming from lifeless chemicals), the Laws of Biogenesis (life begets life and like begets like, both of which are opposite of what evolution needs), the 1st Law of Thermodynamics, which opposes the Big Bang, the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, which opposes evolution at every level, and there are hundreds, maybe thousands of more examples of the impossibility of evolution. If you would like to know more, I would be willing at any time to go into greater length about this topic with you. The Bible Speaks Of
A Literal Creation Is it possible that the Bible supports evolution? Absolutely not! Some people want to take it allegorically, but the real question is how the Bible treats the creation event. This can be seen clearly throughout scripture. I will use 10 scripture references to prove this to you. Exodus 20:9, 11 “Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:…For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the
LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” This is God writing the Law Himself. Did God make a mistake? If there was not a literal 6-day creation, what is the basis for this commandment? The answer is that there is none. If there is no literal creation, God has given a Law for no reason at all. Psalm 104:30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. Notice that it says that God sends His spirit forth and
the creation occurs. There is no length of time between these things – it
happens instantly. Isaiah 37:16 O LORD of hosts, God
of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the
kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth. This verse clearly states that God created the heaven and the earth. Psalm 96:5 For all the gods of
the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. Notice that it separates the God of the Bible from those other false gods because He is the Creator. If, as you and others say, He is not the creator, then He is really no different than Gaia or Vishnu or any of those other false gods. Jeremiah 10:11-12 Thus shall ye say
unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they
shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
He [God] hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by
his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. This verse says that every false god shall perish from the earth, but not the God of the Bible. Why? Because He is the Creator. Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O
Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for
thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Notice this verse says that the reason the Lord deserves glory and honor is because He is the Creator. What Would Jesus
Believe? Matthew 19:4 And he answered and
said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning
made them male and female, Jesus is saying that humans were created FROM THE BEGINNING male and female. According to evolution, the universe started some 20 billion years ago, the earth about 4.5 billion years ago, and humans didn’t evolve until about 12 million years ago. That means that human beings didn’t come about until 99.94% of the way through the evolutionary timeline. Is that the beginning? They didn’t even appear until 99.76% of the way through the timeline of the earth. Now Pastor <NAME>, you have three options: (1) Jesus
was correct, and there was a literal creation just as the Bible says (2) Jesus
didn’t know any better, therefore proving that He was not omniscient, and
therefore was not God. This means that His death upon the cross is not really
enough to save anyone from their sins. (3) Jesus
knew better, and decided to intentionally lie to the people listening to him.
In this case, he would be a liar, guilty of sin, and would not be an
unblemished lamb. This also makes Christ’s sacrifice for naught, as a
blemished sacrifice has never been acceptable. Which will you choose? Mark 10:6 But from the
beginning of the creation God made them male and female. Again, the same as above, Jesus says that humans were made from the beginning male and female. You again have the three choices as above. John 3:12 If I have told you
earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of
heavenly things? Jesus said that man was created at the beginning. If you did not believe Jesus when He spoke of this earthly thing, how can you possibly trust that He can save you? John 5:46-47 For had ye believed
Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not
his writings, how shall ye believe my words? What did Moses write? The first 5 books of the Bible, including Genesis. So I now ask you the same question that Jesus posed – if you do not believe Genesis, how can you believe Jesus? John opens up talking about how Jesus, the Word of God, was the creator of everything. If that is not true, then why believe anything else in that gospel? In fact, every book of the New Testament references Genesis, so how, if Genesis is not true, can ANY of the New Testament be true? And since all of the books of the Old Testament are based on Genesis being true (for example, God having the authority to give us laws), then how can any of the Old Testament be true? And if the Old and New Testaments are not true, then what are you left with? The Bible says clearly, “teach no other doctrine” (1 Timothy 1:3) and “for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:3). In fact it also says that “professing themselves to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:22). Did you know that evolutionists call human beings Homo sapiens, or the “Wise Man”, and that these ‘wise men’ proclaim that we came from monkeys, and that there is no God! You probably also didn’t know that many atheists rejoice that so many clergy support evolution because they are certain the next generation will see the hypocrisy and simply abandon Christianity altogether. Remember that the Bible makes it abundantly clear that whosoever shall cause a child to lose faith in God would be better off with a millstone tied round about his neck and cast into the sea (Matthew 18:6, Mark 9:42, Luke 17:1-2). Before you decide to support such a doctrine as evolution, you better be absolutely sure that you are correct. I pray that you reconsider, but I will understand if you do not. After all, it’s just the honesty of God, the God whom the Bible says created everything and then became a man and died on the cross for the sins of all those who would believe on Him. Why should you stand against evolution, when the broadest and most tread path is that of folding to the pressure of the world? Why believe God, in shining white righteousness, when one could believe scientists, in shining white lab coats? If you are thinking that I am putting God in a box, I am – I put God in a box of honesty, that is, I believe He is not only powerful enough to create the world, but honest enough to tell us how He did it. Let me reiterate – if you want to know more, I will help you whenever I am able. In the name of the Creator of Heaven and Earth, Brock Lee |
